Once again, I have received an Honorable Mention for the Writers of the Future Award for the first quarter, 2012. My previous Honorable Mention was for last year.
Of course I would have loved to have won, but an Honorable Mention is a nice place to be. It’s better than no mention at all. And having received it twice now informs me that at least I am not going backward in my writing, which is aways good to know.
Although I did not win, I have received an “Honorable Mention” from the Writers of the Future Award (1st quarter, 2011) for my story, “A Woman of Light and Steel”. They tell me my certificate is in the mail.
It would have been great to be a finalist or semi-finalist, but I am happy right now with this “Honorable Mention”. It means a lot to me and I’m proud to have it.
Now I guess I’ll have to do some more writing!
